ERIC KAPOSTA - His Vision

Eric Kaposta, American artist 

These words of the artist Eric Kaposta seen above describe what makes him tick and what gives him passion. Eric has been called a renaissance man, although known mostly for sculpture. Eric started his career as a painter. As a singer won a national music contest sponsored by Dick Clark, went to college on a football scholarship, designed products that have been recognized nationally, won contests as a photographer, and has been published as a poet.

A gift of oil paints at the age of eleven helped the artist develop a talent that had previously been nursed by a love of drawing and art books. Art classes and the nurturing of the great masterpieces of Europe engaged in his travels with his military family inspired him. Starting as a painter his foray into jewelry led to the development of his sculptural body of work which he is now most known for. Portraiture, figurative, wildlife, and architectural work have all passed through his studio in Houston, Texas.
